
He was born in Biddeford on July 5, 1924, a son of Oscar and Antoinette (Gagne) Goulet.
Raoul served his country in the U.S. Army and the Army Air Force. After the service, he was employed in the maintenance department of West Point Pepperell for 16 years and later in maintenance for Biddeford Textile for 20 years. He was also a past commander and lifetime member of the D.A.V. and life member of the VFW.
Raoul’s hobbies were gardening and working around his home. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Adrienne (Bouffard) Goulet on Aug. 2, 2006, and by three brothers, Roger, Robert and Roland Goulet.
He is survived by: three sons, Raoul J. Goulet Jr., Royal Goulet and Louis Goulet; two brothers, Raymond and Rene Goulet; six sisters, Dolores Davis, Frances Doyon, Theresa Stevens, Madeleine Frechette, Lorraine Marcoux and Rachel Kinel; and brother-in-law Armand Bouffard. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
