Bath police on Saturday charged a 39-year-old man with indecent conduct after two teenage girls reported seeing him masturbating and exposing himself to them from his pickup truck.
The girls, ages 13 and 14, were walking along a footpath near the Patten Free Library when police said they saw Jeremy Collier parked in a green Ford F-250 on Front Street.
Police said the girls immediately reported what they saw to a parent.
An officer responded to the scene and observed Collier still exposing himself when he approached the truck, police said. Collier’s bail was set at $2,500. He was also ordered not to have contact with children under age 16 if he is to be released.
Police said Collier has a record of sex offenses dating to 1998. Since then, he has been convicted of indecent conduct four times, in 1998, 200, 2001, and 2016. He was also convicted in 2001 of visual sexual aggression against a child.
“The girls did exactly what they were supposed to do in this case,” said Bath Lt. Robert Savary. “They reported it immediately to a trusted adult, who in turn immediately called the police.”
