He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on Jan. 27, 1946, a son of Arthur and Una (Albert) Corriveau.
Jamie’s education mirrored his life in many ways. It was filled with adventure and the chasing of dreams. He was a star ski racer and football player at Gould Academy and then pursued skiing at the collegiate level in Colorado at the University of Denver. Family brought him back to Maine where he finished his education at the University of Maine.
Jamie’s work took him all over the world. From his time as a commercial pilot to his work for K2 he got to follow his dreams and live a life of adventure. Family brought him back to Maine where he helped grow and develop hotels, restaurants, and a myriad of other real estate projects. His heart always brought him back to his love of the outdoors. He helped start Maine Huts and Trails and always was following his passion of sharing his love of the outdoors through his Maine Guide business. Later in life he was able to pursue another longtime love of his, photography. He was able to capture many special places and memorable moments that brought him great happiness and contentment.
Jamie was a lover of all things outdoors. He enjoyed the quiet solitude that the Maine woods and mountains offer. He was enthralled with the sense of adventure that the Maine’s lakes, rivers and coasts offered. His adoration of these places provided limitless opportunities for exploration. Jamie also loved fast cars, loud boats and big trucks. Jamie loved to sit and talk with people anytime anywhere. He loved to learn from others as well as share his story. He was a kind soul with an enormous heart that touched many along his journey. He was selfless and compassionate and truly believed that anyone could accomplish their dreams. He was an incredible son, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, and loved one. He will forever live in our hearts and thoughts.
He is survived by: two sons, Tucker Corriveau and his wife, Jenna, and Ben Corriveau and his wife, Amelia, and three grandchildren, Vivienne, Ellie and Lina and Richard Dewey Dubord, brother of Tucker and Ben.
A Celebration of Jamie Corriveau wil be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 23 at Winslow Park – Moose Lodge (outdoors), Staples Point Road, Freeport ME 04032.
