
He was born in Kings Mountain, Orrington, Maine, on Sept. 20, 1945.
Donald attended local schools. and worked as a subtractor for many years. His first employment was at the local mills during shut down time and most recently worked as a subtractor for many years.
He enjoyed four wheeling, trips to Florida and hunting.
Donald was past president of the Eagles in Brewer and in Biddeford.
Mr. Shoemaker is preceded in death by: two sisters, Peggy Pinkham and Chris Thompkins; a brother, Bud Cyr; a nephew, John Cyr; and a son, Donald Shoemaker Jr.
He is survived by: his wife, Norma McKeen Shoemaker of Saco; two daughters, Lori Shoemaker, and Kimberly Babb; a son, Daniel Shoemaker; two stepsons, Jerald Levesque and Daniel Levesque; a stepdaughter, Shannon Littlefield; a niece, Sheila Cyr; a best friend for many years, Robert Moody; and several grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday, June 30, 2017, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Eagle Club, Birch Street, Biddeford, Maine.
Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home and Cremation, 365 Main St., Saco are entrusted with the arrangements.
