York County Sheriff Bill King said in a release this morning that Austin Cole, 20, of Kennebunk, was driving his 2005 Hyundai four-door sedan north on Sinnott Road toward Biddeford when he lost control and struck a tree.
The impact caused the car to careen off the tree and roll over. Cole was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
King said preliminary analysis shows speed may have been a factor in the crash. The crash was being reconstructed with assistance from the Westbrook Police Department.
