BRUNSWICK — Four members of the Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse team have been named Honorable Mention All-American in awards handed out by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association last week.

Senior Peter Mumford as well as juniors Brett Kujala, Matthew Crowell and Parker Sessions were recognized in selections announced by the organization.

Mumford closed out a fantastic career between the pipes for the Polar Bears and was an All-New England selection this spring. Playing 857:51 in goal for Bowdoin this year, Mumford posted a 11.33 GAA and 51.2 save percentage. He ends his career fifth all-time at Bowdoin in saves (564) and ninth in wins (24).

Crowell was a First Team All-NESCAC choice this spring, ranking second on the team with 29 goals and fourth on the squad with 33 points. Through three seasons, Crowell has scored 73 goals and owns 93 points.

A Second Team All- NESCAC selection, Kujala was Bowdoin’s leading scorer, carding 43 goals and six assists. He became Bowdoin’s 35th player to surpass 100 career points this year and stands at 111 in his career (99 goals, 12 assists).

Sessions, also a Second Team All-NESCAC choice, helped backline a Bowdoin defense that permitted 10.99, ranking fourth in the league. He finished among the team’s leaders with 11 caused turnovers and ten groundballs this year.
