Falardeau is enrolled in AP Chemistry at Thornton Academy in teacher Beth Bussiere’s class and she administered the test, which served as great preparation for the AP Exam.
Because of Vincent’s high marks, he was invited to take the national test on Saturday, April 22, at the University of Maine. It was more extensive examination and lasted nearly five hours.
The national test included multiple choice questions, a free response section, and a lab where he had to determine the composition of an Alka-Seltzer tablet.
The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad is a multi-tiered competition designed to stimulate and promote achievement in high school chemistry and is sponsored by the American Chemical Society.
