Hundreds of Jehovah’s Witnesses will come to Portland this weekend for the religious organization’s annual regional convention at the Cross Insurance Arena.

The convention will start at 9:20 a.m. Friday and continue through Sunday, according to an online schedule.

The Portland event is one of 14 regional conventions that Jehovah’s Witnesses will hold nationwide on Memorial Day weekend. Jehovah’s Witnesses say the conventions strengthen the organization’s Christian brotherhood and create an opportunity to meet witnesses from other congregations.
