In his May 18 letter to the editor, Allan Neff describes “the political left” as supporters of Hillary Clinton.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. The “left,” or progressives, were out in force for Bernie Sanders, which is probably why Hillary lost.

No one who could conceivably be called a member of the left would have anything to do with electing the Democratic Party’s rigged corporate choice, just another in a long line of money-grubbing clones that the Democrats have put up to match the same type of venal, scabrous choices on the Republican side.

Please, Mr. Neff, while supporting Donald Trump is your choice (just like supporting Richard Nixon’s life-killing policies, in another era, was a choice), and it’s true that progressives don’t like Trump, please don’t use that as an excuse to lump us together with the Republican Light (Democratic) Party.
