TRENTON, N.J. — Teddy Stankiewicz tossed seven scoreless innings and Yankory Pimentel finished off the shutout as the Portland Sea Dogs earned a 1-0 win Sunday afternoon against the Trenton Thunder.

Stankiewicz (2-1) allowed five hits and two walks and recorded three strikeouts.

Portland (20-18) scored the only run in the sixth inning, off Thunder starter Yefry Ramirez (5-2). Tzu-Wei Lin reached base for his 21st consecutive game when he drew a one-out walk. Lin stole second and scored on Nick Longhi’s single to right.

Pimentel earned the save in his Eastern League debut, but not without some suspense in the eighth. Thairo Estrada reached on a two-out infield single and advanced to third on a pair of wild pitches. Gleyber Torres walked before Pimentel struck out Jake Cave to end the threat.

Pimentel needed just four pitches to retire Trenton (25-16) in the ninth. He was promoted Saturday from Class A Salem to replace Austin Maddox, who was promoted to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Ramirez went six innings, striking out eight and allowing four hits.

Portland took two of three games in the series, including a 5-2 win in 14 innings Saturday night. The Sea Dogs head to New Hampshire for a four-game series that starts Monday.
