ON THURSDAY, May 4, Maine Pines Racquet & Fitness of Brunswick once again welcomed some very special athletes from the Auburn Special Olympics team to participate in tennis. This year marked the sixth time that Maine Pines has hosted this event which benefits children with special needs. The athletes take over the courts for the morning in order to learn about the game of tennis. Some come to improve their serves, some want a better backhand and some will be picking up a racquet for the first time. However, the one thing they all want to do is have fun. The athletes look forward to this event all year long. These events would not be possible without the help from volunteers, shown below, who donate their time to make sure everyone has a great time.
