WELLS —The Historical Society of Wells & Ogunquit summer fundraiser will be held this year on Aug.19.
This is the Sixth annual “Woodies in the Cove” Car Show and Parade. This event has become well known in the world of Woodies car shows and is now the largest Woodie event in New England and possibly the entire East Coast, an achievement that is possible with the support of the society’s community sponsorship.
At last year’s event 50 Woodies from all over New England, New York and from as far away as Virginia attended.
The Woodies car show is important to the historical society in an effort to be more self-sufficient and to succeed into the future.
The society cordially invites members of the community to support them by offering sponsorships to local businesses.
There are three levels of sponsorship: Platinum ($500), Gold ($250) and Silver ($100). Please contact the society for more information online at info@wohistory.org or by calling 646-4775.
The event starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs until 2 p.m. near the historical society at 974 Post Road In Wells.
The parade will start from there and follow through Ogunquit and into Perkins Cove between 2 and 3 p.m.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
