OLD ORCHARD BEACH

Five players picked up three hits each as the Richmond High School softball team cruised to an 18-1 non-conference win over Old Orchard Beach on Monday.

Meranda Martin, Camryn Hurley and Mackenzie Abbott had three singles apiece, while Sydney Underhill Tilton and Cassidy Harriman each doubled and singled twice to power the undefeated Bobcats, who improved to 9-0 and hosts the Seagulls today at 4 p.m. Caitlin Kendrick chipped in a single and a double.

On the mound, Martin permitted four hits and struck out five.

The Wolverines out-scored the Roadrunners in Mountain Valley Conference play at Salem.

Trailing 8-0 in the second, Wiscasset (2-9) tied the game by scoring eight runs in the third. The key hit was a two-run single by Sydnie Thayer.

Wiscasset took control in the fifth, plating 10 runs before a six-run seventh put Mt. Abram away. Farrah Casey’s three-run double was the key blow in the fifth.

Wolverines left fielder Lindsey Gordon made a diving catch in the sixth inning with the bases loaded to save three runs.

Summer Ross led the Roadrunners with three singles and an RBI.

Wiscasset hosts Telstar on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Boys lacrosse

TOPSHAM — Connor Brown scored three goals and dished out two assists as Mt. Ararat held on for a 9-7 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Edward Little.

The Eagles improved to 5- 4 with their fourth win in the past five games, while the Red Eddies fell to 5-3.

Sawyer Watson chipped in two goals in the win, while Jason Magno had a goal and an assist. Nick Canter, Zach Caouette and Steven Schuman added a goal apiece.

Ganan Mancini paced EL with three goals and an assist, with Tyler Morin, Ben Feldman, Spencer Frahn and Eli McBride chipping in a goal each. Frahn dished out three assists.

In goal, Parker Lacey’s seven saves were enough for the win, while Brandon Asselin turned away eight shots in the Red Eddies cage.

Mt. Ararat visits Morse Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
