
Kayleigh Temple doubled three times as part of her 4- for-5 afternoon as the Mt. Ararat High School softball team rolled to a 13-5 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Camden Hills on Wednesday.
The Eagles improved to 6- 1 and visit Bangor on Friday at 4:15 p.m. The Windjammers fell to 2-4.
Mt. Ararat broke the game open in the third inning, scoring five runs. The Eagles added three more in the fourth and two each in the fifth and seventh frames.
Temple drove in a game-high four runs, while Katelyn Cox was 3-for-5, including a double. Zoe Stilphen and Kelsey Scannevin also had three hits, with Scannevin tripling in a pair of runs. Alana Weaver and Kristen Graffam chipped in two hits for Mt. Ararat.
On the mound, Weaver went the first four innings and held Camden to just one run.
Emily Long and Grace O’Connell combined on the mound for the Windjammers, while Nicole Brown and Laticia Billings each had three hits. Gillian LeFleche had three RBIs.

Haley Brann singled twice as the visiting Tigers earned a KVAC win over Morse in Bath.
Gardiner led 1-0 into the fourth, but tacked on two runs in the frame and added three more in the fifth to take control.
Jillian Bisson, Logan Granholm, Mallory Baily and Meghan McChan also singled in the win, while hurler Bisson struck eight, walked two and permitted just six hits to the Shipbuilders, who fell to 4-2.
Hope Faulkingham launched a two-run home run for Morse in the sixth. Sierra Wallace, Olivia Potter and Mikayla Rose each doubled, while Marissa Parks and Maddie Mitchell each singled.
Parks struck out two and walked 10 in the loss.
Morse hosts Maranacook today at 4 p.m.

Danielle Cyr quieted the Dragons’ bats, tossing a KVAC shutout as Lewiston defeated Brunswick.
After collecting 12 hits in back-to-back contests, the Dragons (0-5) were held to just three hits. Cyr struck out 10 and walked one over seven innings.
The Dragons (0-5) trailed 1-0 through four innings until Lewiston scored five times in the fifth, taking advantage of Brunswick’s defensive lapses.
Jordyn Rubin led the Blue Devils with three hits and she scored three runs from the leadoff spot. Emily Mousseau also had three hits, while Jordan Mynahan and Lexi Poulin added two hits each for Lewiston.
Shelby Plourde continued her hot hitting for Brunswick as she collected two hits, including a double to the left-field fence. Alexis Guptill added the Dragons’ other hit.
Brunswick travels to Farmington to face Mt. Blue on Friday at 4:30 p.m., then hosts Skowhegan on Saturday at noon.

The visiting Capers (5-4) downed the Falcons (1-5) in Western Maine Conference play at Freeport.
Jessica Robicheaw tossed a no-hitter with eight strikeouts in the win over six innings. She walked three.
Grace Carignan and Maddie Culkin had two hits and two RBIs each for Cape Elizabeth.
Bri Bellefleur took the loss for Freeport, which visits Wells today at 4 p.m. She allowed 11 hits and four walks with two strikeouts.
Girls lacrosse
SOUTH PARIS — Emily Welch scored seven goals as Mt. Ararat rolled to a 10-3 KVAC win over Oxford Hills, giving first-year coach Sam Diamond her first coaching win.
The Eagles (1-4) will go for two in a row on Friday at home against Greely at 4 p.m.
Shannon Harty, Fiona Hoang and Jessica Cloutier chipped in one goal each for Mt. Ararat, while goaltender Casi Perow turned aside 12 shots.
Maggie Hartnett had three stops for the Vikings.

The visiting Falcons fell to 1-5 with a WMC loss to the Rams, who improved to 4-1.
Hallie Schwartzman had six goals in the win, while Gabby Fogg chipped in three goals and an assist.
Taylor Dostie and Chloe Davidson paced Freeport with two goals apiece, with Taylor Rinaldi, Regan Lynch and Molly Whelan chipping in a goal each.
Freeport hosts Cony on Friday at 4 p.m.
Baseball
WINTHROP — Lisbon pulled away with a nine-run sixth inning for a 15-4 mercy-rule Mountain Valley Conference win over Winthrop.
The Greyhounds defeated the Ramblers earlier this season, 3-2 in nine innings. But, leading 6-4 in the sixth, Lisbon (6-1) went to work against reliever Jackson Ladd, pounding out five hits.
Tyler Halls, Noah Francis and Ryley Austin each had three hits in the win, while Noah Austin and Nick Lerette had two each. In all, Lisbon had 15 hits against four Winthrop pitchers. Lerette drove in four runs, with Noah Austin adding three RBIs.
Ryley Austin went the distance, scattering seven hits with four strikeouts.
Greg Fay and Cameran Gagnon picked up two hits for Winthrop (4-3).
Lisbon is at Telstar today at 4 p.m.

The visiting Tigers handed the Shipbuilders their first loss in KVAC play on Kelley Field in Bath.
Hunter Chasse earned the win for Gardiner, going all five innings, while Tait Nygaard suffered the loss.
Sam Jermyn had two hits for the Tigers, with Isaiah Magee scoring a pair of runs.
Parker Onorato led Morse, going 3-for-3, including a double. Tucker Banger picked up a pair of hits.
The Shipbuilders are back at home today against Maranacook at 4 p.m.

Brandon Tinsman hit two home runs as part of his four-hit game as visiting Cape Elizabeth defeated the Falcons in WMC action.
Brett McAlister also had four hits, coming a home run short of the cycle. He also drove in three runs, with Tinsman picking four RBIs.
Sean Agrondia pitched five innings, giving up three hits, all to Freeport’s (3-4) Colby Wagner. Agrondia struck out four.
The Falcons host Yarmouth on Friday at 4 p.m.
