FALMOUTH (AP) — Maine fire officials are working to determine the cause of a large house fire that firefighters from six towns battled for hours.
Smoke billowing from the Falmouth home could be seen miles away on Sunday. No one was in the remote rural home when flames broke out.
The fire was reported by a neighbor. No one was injured.
Five neighboring towns sent firefighters to Falmouth to help fight the flames.
Fire officials said the two-story home was a complete loss. A garage and a wooded area also burned.
An investigator from the state fire marshal’s office is investigating.
