Tyler Keating, 22, of West Harwich, Massachusetts, was involved in a chase by state and Portland Police on Interstate 295 on Thursday night, according to Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.
His Volkswagen Jetta was spotted again on the Maine Turnpike and troopers chased it in the southbound lane, where it got off at the Kennebunk exit after avoiding spike mats that had been placed in the road.
The car disappeared in Kennebunk for a time and then was spotted attempting to get back on the turnpike at the same exit, according to McCausland.
A state trooper used a PIT maneuver with his cruiser that spun the Jetta out and brought the chase to an end, and according to McCausland. Keating ran off into the woods near the Kennebunk toll booth and was captured around 1 a.m. on Friday.
No one was injured in the pursuit..
Kennebunk Police as well as a tracking dog from Portland Police Department assisted troopers.
Portland Police also had pursued the same car a week earlier, McCausland said.
