Colleen McKearney scored three goals, including the game-winner in the second half, as the Brunswick High School girls lacrosse team slipped by Lewiston, 5-4, in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference action on Monday.
The Dragons improved to 2-1 and host Oxford Hills today at 4:30 p.m., while the Blue Devils fell to 1-1.
Brunswick led 4-3 at the half, with McKearney netting two goals, and one each coming from Jenna Brooks and Anna Davis. Rian Sachs and Brooks both dished out two assists, while Hannah Day had one helper.
In goal, Dragons keeper Mikaela Aschbrenner turned aside 10 shots for the win, and defensively Anna Webster, Holly Black and Lydia Ginty stood tall.
Abbi Langelier and Erin Lachance had two goals each for Lewiston, with goaltender CeCe Racine making nine stops.

Chloe Davidson’s two goals weren’t enough as Freeport (1- 3) fell to Cape Elizabeth (3-1) at home in Western Maine Conference play.
Susannah Graham had three goals and three assists for the Capers, who led 9-4 at the break. Chloe Chapin notched three goals and one helper.
Davidson also had two assists for Freeport, which visits Yarmouth on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Boys lacrosse
FREEPORT — Perrin Davidson forced a turnover and scored late in regulation to lift Freeport to a 12-11 WMC win over Waynflete.
The Falcons earned their first win (1-2) and avenged a loss to the Flyers on Thursday.
“This was exactly like our last game, Waynflete up 5-4 at the half, and both teams went on a bit of run in the second half and in the fourth quarter,” said Freeport coach Geoff Arris, whose Falcons host Kennebunk on Friday.
Davidson finished with five goals and two assists, with Connor Dostie adding a hat trick and two helpers.
In goal, Garrison Thompson had 10 saves.

Sawyer Watson netted five goals to lead Mt. Ararat to a non-conference win over Westbrook on Saturday.
The Eagles improved to 2-3 and host Cony on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Nick Canter, Owen Kelly, Mark Abreu and Orion Sargent added a goal each, with Connor Brown dishing out two assists. Kelly and Abreu added an assist each.
Christian Childs, Ryan Shackley and Grayson Post scored twice apiece for the Blue Blazes.
