LEWISTON — The Plymouth State University baseball team split a non-conference doubleheader at Bates College on Sunday afternoon at Leahey Field, defeating the Bobcats 7-1 in the first game before falling 1-0 in the nightcap.
The Panthers moved to 16- 18 overall, while Bates is 14-12.
In the opener, PSU scored six runs in the seventh to break a 1-1 tie.
Former Brunswick High School standout Alex Larson posted the final three outs to close it out for the Panthers.
PSU returns to action today at home against Tufts at 3:30 p.m.
