Mt. Ararat pitchers Alana Weaver and Holly Temple combined to allow just two hits as the Eagles earned an 8-1 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference high school softball win over Brunswick on Monday.
Zoe Stilphen, Kayleigh Temple and Belle Benner each had two hits to pace the Mt. Ararat (2-0) offense. Kayleigh Temple, Benner and Holly Temple had two RBIs apiece.
For Brunswick, Shelby Plourde doubled in the sixth and scored on a sacrifice fly ball by Keturah Stinson. Hannah Escoe added a single in the seventh.
The Eagles are back in action today at 4 p.m., hosting Cony, while Brunswick entertains Oxford Hills on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

WISCASSET 4
Amanda Benner singled, doubled and tripled to pace the visiting Bulldogs to a Mountain Valley Conference win over Wiscasset in the season-opener for both teams.
Maeve Blodgett and August Moore each singled for the Wolverines, 0-1 and scheduled to visit Madison on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Emily Allen had three singles for Hall-Dale (1-0), while Jill Whynot had two singles.
Kailey Roberts earned the mound win.
Baseball
LISBON — Nick Lerette doubled and scored the winning run in the 12th inning as Lisbon downed Winthrop, 3-2, in an MVC contest.
Down 2-0 in the fifth, the Greyhounds (2-0) tied the game. The game remained deadlocked until the 12th, as Lerette doubled and later scored on a throwing error.
Lerette finished 3-for-6, while Lucas Francis picked up three hits and scored a run. Ryley Austin, Nick Austin and Noah Francis also had two hits.
Jacob Hickey, Matt Ingram and Antonio Meucci paced Winthrop (0-1) with two hits apiece.
On the mound, Tyler Halls, Lucas Francis and Ryley Austin combined for three walks, eight hits and 15 strikeouts for the ’Hounds.
Lisbon is slated to host Dirigo on Friday at 4 p.m.

FREEPORT 3
Quinn Callahan broke up a close Western Maine Conference game with a fifth-inning three-run home run as the visiting Knights downed Freeport.
Ben Bernier held the Falcons (0-1) to six hits in going the distance.
Caleb Slater was 2-for-4, including a double, for Freeport, which is scheduled to host Sacopee Valley on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Boys lacrosse
AUBURN — Josh Dorr exploded for five goals and an assist to pace Brunswick to a 21-3 KVAC win over Edward Little at Walton Field.
Max Gramins and Christian Glover added four goals each, with Andrew Eno, Nate Girardin and Aidan Glover chipping in two goals and two helpers.
Henry Doherty and Ben Palizay had a goal apiece for the Dragons, who improved to 2-0 and visits Lewiston on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Ganan Mancini scored all three goals for the Red Eddies (1-2).
