TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee baseball team opened its season with a 5-2 victory over Messalonskee recently.
Hunter Lohr, Dakota Lopez and Ben Freeman combined for 10 strikeouts and four walks on the mound for the 1-0 Eagles.
Devin Tobin and Cody Holman led the way with a double and a single each. Lopez doubled, with Austin Damon chipping in with a single.
For Messalonskee, Travis Hosea and Cam Fair each singled.
