WENHAM, M.A. — The trio of Nichole Carvalho, Korinne Bohunsky and Jocelyn Davee accounted for 10 goals and seven assists to power the University of New England women’s lacrosse team to a 15-13 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) win over Gordon College Wednesday afternoon (Apr. 19) at Brigham Athletic Complex.
UNE won its third consecutive match to improve to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Fighting Scots (8-6, 3-3 CCC) lost for the third time in-a-row.
Carvalho paced the winners with four goals, while Bohunsky and Davee added three apiece and combined for seven assists. Anna Stowell chipped in a pair of markers for UNE.
Gordon’s Olivia McCarrick led all players with six goals, five of which came after halftime. Caroline Walton and Anna Rourke each scored twice.
Bohunsky led UNE with five ground balls, while Davee contributed four draw controls and three ground balls. Jolena Lampron and Kasey Rubenstein combined for seven caused turnovers and seven ground balls. Goalkeeper Maritza Nary came up with five saves to register the victory.
