
Here is a listing of some of the events on the schedule in York County.
BIDDEFORD
An Earth Day Celebration will be held at the recycling and transfer station at 371 Hill St. on April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be compost pails and bins for sale, police officers on site for safe drug and medical waste disposal, free soil test kits and healthy lawn information, stormwater information and information on safe paint disposal.
The University of New England is inviting the public to join students and faculty in the Department of Environmental Studies in the planting of American chestnut trees at 2 p.m. on Friday outside between Decray Hall and the Admissions Welcome Center. There will also be electric car test driving at 3 p.m. in the parking lot directly across from Leonard Hall.
KENNEBUNK
Earth Day Every Day Clean-up and Paddleout, hosted by Surfrider Foundation, from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Beach clean-up from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a paddle out into the ocean.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH
The Veterans Memorial Park Committee will be hosting a clean-up day to remove debris, clean graffiti and do some weeding from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Meet at the gazebo at 9 a.m.
April Stools Day community beach clean-up event will be held 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Meet at the beach access on Old Orchard Street. Rain date is April 23.
SACO
An upcycling craft day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Come at your leisure to create crafts from recyclables in celebration of Earth Day.

SANFORD
The Sanford Springvale Mousum Way Land Trust is hosting a trek and picnic on land it is purchasing on Blanchard Road from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Signs will direct you from Hanson Ridge Road in Springvale or Smith Road in Lebanon.
WELLS
Earth Day Celebration at Wells Reserve at Laudholm, 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Programs throughout the day include a bird walk at 8 a.m., a concert at 10 a.m., crafts and games from 10 a.m. to noon, a nature walk from 11 a.m. to noon and a beach clean-up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
YORK
Celebrate Earth Day at Mount Agamenticus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Clean-up at the summit from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. , and poster decorating at the lodge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
