BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College junior Hannah Hirschfeld has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week.
Hirschfeld was outstanding in a 3-0 week for the Polar Bears, including a pair of conference wins.
She scored three goals, including two in the second half, of a 10-9 win at Bates.
In a tie game at Connecticut College, she sparked Bowdoin’s game-winning five-goal, second-half run with three goals in a span of 5:05 to put Bowdoin ahead for good. She added a hat trick in a non-conference win at Wheaton.
The Polar Bears, currently ranked eighth in the latest IWLCA Division III poll, will return to action on Wednesday evening when they host 16th-ranked Colby in a huge NESCAC clash on Ryan Field at 7 p.m.
