BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College men’s lacrosse player Brett Kujala has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Kujala propelled the Polar Bears to two big league wins last week as the team extended its winning streak and improved to 4-2 (3-1 NESCAC) this spring. With the wins, Bowdoin reentered the USILA Division III poll at number 18 this week.
The junior attackman was outstanding in a pair of one-goal road wins against NESCAC opponents last week, racking up 14 points (including 10 goals). At Middlebury, Kujala scored four times and assisted on three others, cashing in on a pair of man-up scores in Bowdoin’s double-overtime win. At Williams, he scored six goals on seven shots and assisted on another in a one-goal victory.
Bowdoin returns to action tonight when the Polar Bears travel to play at UMass Boston at 7:15 p.m.
