FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The Bates College women’s tennis team won three out of six singles matches in a 6-3 loss against No. 26 nationally-ranked Whitman College in their first match of the Blue-Grey Classic at the University of Mary Washington on Friday.
Whitman rose to 9-4 on the season, while Bates fell to 3-5.
Junior Maisie Silverman of Brunswick captured a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles over Whitman’s Andrea Gu.
