Spring fishing trip
slated for veterans
WINDHAM — The Sebago Lake Anglers Association is offering a spring fishing outing for veterans on Wednesday, May 10.
Launch will be from Wolf Cove. SLAA members will take out or or two veterans per boat to spend the morning trolling for salmon, lake trout and brookies. Launch time will be determined by the veterans and the boat captains, who can provide all safety gear, tackle and bait. Veterans are also welcome to bring their own gear. At 1 p.m., participants will gather at the campground for a picnic lunch of hot dogs/ hamburgers with rolls, salads, chips, sodas and cake. There will be a friendly competition for the largest fish caught by length.

Proper flag disposal
available in Windham
WINDHAM — American flags that have come to the end of their natural life may be turned in for proper retirement at a couple of locations in Windham.
The Windham Veterans Center, 35 Veterans Memorial Drive, behind Hannaford, is open for drop-off every Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Maine Flag and Banner at 824 Roosevelt Trail, is an American Legion drop-off location and will accept retired flags. The Field-Allen Post Legion Americanism officer collects all the aged flags and conducts a retirement ceremony about four times each year. For additional information, call 892-1306.
