BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College sophomore goaltender Kerri St. Denis of Harpswell has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Hockey Player of the Week.
St. Denis was outstanding in the Polar Bears’ 1-0 double overtime victory in the NESCAC quarterfinals at Hamilton on Saturday.
In the longest game in Bowdoin women’s hockey history, St. Denis stopped all 41 shots she faced, including 14 in the two overtime periods, to record her sixth shutout of the year.
St. Denis ranks second in the NESCAC in both save percentage (.951) and goals-against average (1.18) this winter.
She and the Polar Bears will travel to play Middlebury in the NESCAC semifinals on Saturday.
