The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team has earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament and will take to the road for an opening-round matchup against SUNY New Paltz in Ithaca, N.Y., on Friday.
The Polar Bears (21-4), ranked 21st in the latest WBCA Division III poll, will be making their 17th NCAA Tournament appearance — the most of any NESCAC school — and 16th in the last 17 years. Bowdoin owns a 31- 17 record all- time in NCAA Tournament play and has advanced to at least the “ Sweet Sixteen” on 11 occasions.
