BUXTON — Henry Louis Desjardins, age 77, passed away on Feb. 25, 2017, at Maine Medical Center with his wife and family at his side.

He was born in Caribou, Maine, on March 11, 1939, a son of the late Leon and Carmen (Daigle) Desjardins.

After graduating from Old Orchard Beach High School, Henry went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Navy as the Vietnam War began.

For many years, he was employed as a boilermaker and was involved in the construction of many structures. While working, he was very involved with the Boilermaker and Blacksmith National Union, Local 29.

Henry was an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting year-round for whatever was in season at that time.
He attended Living Water Church in West Buxton.

He is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Desjardins.

Henry is survived by: his beloved wife, Dorothy (Blow) Desjardins of Buxton; son, Glenn Desjardins of Alfred; daughter, Tracy Desjardins of California; stepson, Colin Wormwood Jr. of Buxton; siblings, Reginald of Yarmouth and Carlene of Florida; and two grandchildren.

A graveside service with U.S. Navy honors will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 3, at the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Stanley Road in Springvale. Pastor Gary Braley will officiate. Following the service, a reception will be held at Living Waters Church, 198 Parker Farm Road, Buxton.
