ACTON – Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said State Poilce have charged the estranged wife of an Acton resident with his death Wednesday.

State Police charged Scott Weyland’s estranged wife, Kandee Weyland, 46, with murder in connection with his death on Wednesday afternoon.

She is being held at York County Jail and could make a first court appearance as early as today.

Scott Weyland, 42, who lived  at 1097 Milton Mills Road was injured at his home and died at the Sanford campus of Southern Maine Health Care.  Look for more information on this story as information is released.

State Police detectives were called to Acton, a small rural community near the New Hampshire border Wednesday afternoon for a death investigation, McCausland said.

York County Sheriff’s Office deputies had been on the scene at 1079 Milton Mills Road since early afternoon. Also at the scene was Acton Fire-Rescue.  

The home is a newer single family dwelling with a barn about four miles from the New Hampshire border.

Several people were gathered on the roadway several yards away speaking with sheriff’s deputies at mid-afternoon.

Acton’s population in 2010 was about 2,500.

Acton Fire-Rescue put out the word at about 4:45p.m. that  Milton Mills road has been closed from the intersection of Sanborn Road and Orchard road until further notice Wednesday.
