Matey and Barley are a bonded pair, handsome older orange tabbies, that are brothers and need to go home together. They are the sweetest pair you could imagine, and get along wonderfully with kids and dogs.
Barley sounds just like a dove cooing when he purrs, which is frequently (you can see a video of this adorable phenomenon on Coastal Humane’s Facebook page) and Matey tested positive for FIV+ but can live a totally normal life.
At 14 years young, they’re looking for a comfy home to retire in — maybe with a couple sunshine filled window sills to lounge on. All cats and dogs adopted from Coastal Humane Society and Lincoln County Animal Shelter have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on vaccinations. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
