The Bowdoin College women’s basketball team has claimed the third seed and will face Connecticut College in the quarterfinals of the New England Small College Athletic Conference tournament at home on Saturday at 3 p.m.

No tickets will be required for the game, but doors will not be open to Morrell Gymnasium until 2 p.m.

Bowdoin (20-3, 8-2 NESCAC) is the third seed for the second straight year and fourth time overall. The Polar Bears have earned a tournament berth every year and is the only program in conference history to advance to the semifinals each season.

Bowdoin, which looks to return to the championship game for the second time in three years, will meet sixth-seeded Connecticut College (16-8, 4-6 NESCAC).

The two teams will face each other for the second time in a week as they played in the regular-season finale this past Saturday, with the Polar Bears earning a 68-49 victory. The Camels are making their fourth straight tournament appearance, the longest streak in program history.

The quarterfinal matchup will mark the first postseason meeting between Bowdoin and Connecticut College.

The game will be carried live on the Northeast Sports Network, and live stats will be available on the Bowdoin Athletics website as well as the Bowdoin Front Row app.
