Route 1 in Woolwich was closed Saturday evening because of a multi-vehicle auto accident. Traffic was diverted onto Middle Road, according to the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.

No other information was available. The sheriff’s office said it would release more information after it completes its investigation.
