A Portland man was sentenced Tuesday to 80 months in federal prison for his role in a drug distribution conspiracy.
Jonathan Day, 42, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Portland by Judge Jon D. Levy. He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute the synthetic drug bath salts, heroin and fentanyl in Maine. The heroin and fentanyl were obtained in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and the bath salts were obtained through the mail from a source outside the United States, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Day pleaded guilty to the charges in April.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Scarborough and Portland police departments.
