Walker crafts

Walker Memorial Library, 800 Main St., has scheduled programs for youth during this school vacation week.

For ages five and up, the snowy scene craft creating snowy pictures, Thursday, Dec. 29,10:30-11:30 a.m.

For ages 10-18, jewelry making, Thursday, Dec. 29, 2-3 p.m.;
and special toddler story time,  Saturday, Dec. 31, 10:30-11 a.m.

Woman’s club to meet

The GFWC Westbrook Woman’s Club will meet at 1 p.m. on  Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Westbrook Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St.

The meeting topic is the Trauma Intervention Program and women’s crisis centers. Guests are welcome to attend.

Histories of city’s products

Westbrook Historical Society will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, in Westbrook Community Center, 426 Bridge St.

The monthly program will focus on some of Westbrook’s food and beverage manufacturers past and present.  Representatives from Black Dinah Chocolatiers, Dolan Flavoring Co., Schlotterbeck & Foss Co. and Silver Moon Creamery will be featured on the panel.

The society has announced it won’t be serving pizza and beer.

Maine’s own country singer Jose Duddy will perform when Westbrook Senior Citizens meet at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2.

 

 

 

A crew Tuesday continues work replacing siding on the My Place Teen Center building in downtown Westbrook under sunny skies and mild temperatures.
