An 8-inch water main that ruptured in Westbrook is being repaired by Portland Water District staff Sunday, after a leak was reported Christmas morning.

The break was reported at 972 Spring St. in Westbrook.

No information was available about the number of homes or businesses affected.

A spokeswoman for the Portland Water District said crews were digging up the roadway by about 11 a.m.
