BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College sophomores Karl Sarier and Sterling Dixon have been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Performers of the Week.
Dixon posted three first-place finishes in the season-opening meet against MIT and WPI. The sophomore posted times of 5:14.86 in the 500-yard freestyle and 1:54.74 in the 200 free. She added a first-place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:07.56.
Sarier turned in strong showings in the meet against MIT and WPI, also winning two events. He posted a time of 1:41.93 to take the 200 free and 46.40 seconds to win the 100 free. He finished second in the 100 IM with a time of 53.68 seconds.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Friday and Saturday when they host the Maine State Meet at Greason Pool.
