The sailing team from Falmouth High placed second and third at two major regattas this month.
Over the weekend in St. Petersburg, Florida, a team with junior skipper Caleb Robinson and a crew of senior Grace Mooradian and juniors Peter Morrissette and Owen White placed third behind two California teams in J/70 class racing at the Keelboat National Championships.
Earlier in the month, Falmouth took second in the two-person 420 class competition at the Atlantic Coast Championships in Rochester, New York.
Falmouth was one of four teams from New England to qualify for the two-day event.
Robinson skippered the A boat with either Mooradian or freshman Catherine Morrissette as crew. Peter Morrissette skippered the B boat with White, junior Sierra Fahrman or freshman Johnny Whalig as crew.
Cooper Whittier of Cumberland placed seventh of 39 riders in the men’s Pleasure Jam Slopestyle snowboarding competition Sunday in Schladming, Austria.
Whittier, 15, was the youngest among 12 finalists and amassed a score of 72.00 points.
Winner Markus Olimstad, 22, of Norway achieved a score of 94.50.
