WASHINGTON — Alexander Wennberg’s power-play goal with 53.6 seconds remaining gave the Columbus Blue Jackets their fourth straight win, 3-2 over the Washington Capitals on Sunday.
Washington’s Nicklas Backstrom was called for high-sticking Nick Foligno with 1:34 remaining. Wennberg took a pass from Foligno and slammed it past Capitals goalie Braden Holtby.
It was Wennberg’s third goal of the season.

FLAMES 3, RED WINGS 2: Mikael Backlund scored the tiebreaking goal with 7:46 left in the third period to give Calgary a victory over host Detroit.
KINGS 3, DUCKS 2: Jeff Carter scored twice and got his 600th career point, Peter Budaj made 28 saves and Los Angeles won in Anaheim, California.
