FREEPORT — Maine Beer Co. is scheduled to go before the Project Review Board on Wednesday for final approval of its expansion project.
The owners of the brewery at 525 U.S. Route 1 first submitted a conceptual plan to the Freeport Planning Department in July. The project includes added production space, a larger tasting room, an outdoor patio, and more parking.
The company plans to add 20,300 square feet to the existing 6,000-square-foot facility, and add 84 parking spaces. This will bring the total number of parking spaces to 113.
A representative from Maine Beer Co. declined to discuss the project. The brewery, which is owned by brothers David and Dan Kleban, moved to Freeport from Portland in 2013.
