Niche.com, a website that helps families and students decide which schools are right for them, has ranked Bowdoin College as the best liberal arts college in America for the third straight year.

Bowdoin was also ranked as the seventh best overall college in America and has the number one best college dorms in America, according to Niche.

Bowdoin spokesman Doug Cook declined to comment on the rankings, citing college policy.

“Our rankings are a result of a statistical pool of data, from government sources to alumni,” said Jessica Hair, marketing outreach coordinator for Niche. “There are a lot of college rankings out there, so it’s important to us to get the correct data.”

Hair said that the folks at Niche rigorously analyze dozens of public data sets and millions of college reviews to produce their rankings, report cards and profiles, and that no school, college or neighborhood is left out. Bowdoin is an annual contender for a variety of top spots.

“Bowdoin performs really well across the spectrum,” said Hair. “Liberal Arts, dorms, food. You name it. It’s a great school.”
