BIDDEFORD — Southern Maine Health Care has named Paul Laprise, M.D. of Internal Medicine in Biddeford its 2016 caregiver of the year. Recipients of the award are selected based upon patient comments and peer recommendations throughout the organization, and must exemplify extraordinary commitment to patients, compassion, empathy and respect.
Laprise is a Bowdoin College graduate and attended the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland and is a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians.
The organization also named SMHC Pharmacy Technician McKayla Raychard as Rock Star of the Year for her genuine, caring interactions with patients and exemplary customer
service skills.
