LIVERMORE FALLS (AP) — Authorities say a Maine man who was struck by a police cruiser over the weekend has died.
Androscoggin County Chief Deputy William Gagne says 24-year-old Joseph Slaver, of Livermore Falls, died of his injuries at a Lewiston hospital on Monday.
Authorities say a Livermore Falls police cruiser driven by Officer Troy Reed hit Slaver just before midnight on Friday.
Gagne says Slaver had been attending a gathering and was dressed in black clothing. He says Slaver left the gathering and walked across the street. An ongoing investigation determined the area of the crash was dark “with little to no street lights.”
Gagne says Slaver struck the vehicle’s passenger side front fender.
