I have known Mike McClellan for quite a while now, we have done many things together in work, community activities and church. I will be supporting Mike as he looks to be reelected as the Maine House 66 (parts of Raymond, Casco and Poland) seat. I know Mike because he has been a parent, volunteer coach and elected official as long as he has lived in Raymond. He also found time to volunteer at Casco and Poland events. Many of us know Mike because he has always been available to help.

I write also today as I just received a mailing from a special interest group against Mike. It is at least the second mailing I know of. A postcard with a one-line attack with no context is the last thing we need in this (or any) election cycle. Both cards are wrong in what they say about him, however, I also wondered about the idea of clean elections when I saw the mailing to my home. I understood that with the new laws there would be less outside money flowing to political campaigns as the candidates using clean election monies were getting a lot of taxpayer money. A candidate getting over $15,000 for signs and bumper stickers and the lobby groups still can send attack mail? I guess the clean election law really was not what they told us.

Mike does not condone attack mailings, nor do I. I appreciate Mike simply knocking on doors, being at community events and being very clear when he is asked about what he will do and not do. Mike has stated consistently he will vote no on all the referendum items (and why), that is important for me to know when I vote. Mike responds when asked, he is honest as to his positions, and he believes in both local control and that we know best how to run our families and communities. Mike has been our trusted representative over the past few years, I will be voting to reelect Mike McClellan to Maine House 66.
