BATH
This holiday season the Patten Free Library has been chosen as the local nonprofit recipient for Bath Subaru’s Share the Love event.
For every new car bought at Bath Subaru during November and December the buyer will have the option to select the Patten Free Library as the organization to receive $250 from the dealership.
For the last 20 years, Subaru of America has donated over $50 million to causes supported by a wide variety of nonprofits and charities across the country.
“The Patten Free Library is a community center, a hub of activity and a gathering place that creates opportunities for learning,” said director Lesley Dolinger. “We are able to do this because of our community partnerships with area businesses and organizations that understand the Library is a steward of our community’s collective memory.”
The Patten Free Library receives no federal or state aid. A third of its operating revenue is received from city of Bath, and towns of Arrowsic, Georgetown, West Bath and Woolwich, but the library relies on of donors to help it fulfill its mission.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
