I’m writing to tell you that a good friend of mine is running for re-election in District 23 to the Maine House of Representatives, an office I had the honor of holding for eight years. If you have not yet had an opportunity to meet Lester Ordway, please allow me the pleasure of introducing this impressive gentleman in a short letter.
What I appreciate most about Standish and the Sebago Lake Region is the true sense of community that we enjoy. I know Lester shares this feeling, because nearly every time I attend a local event, he is right there in the middle of it.
An avid sportsman, I know that Lester will work to safeguard Maine’s rich outdoor traditions. With so many Maine communities relying on the outdoors not only for recreation, but for a strong tourism industry, we need someone like Lester that appreciates our sporting heritage.
Lester’s appreciation for community and his dedication to public service represent what I view as a responsibility to protect our friends and neighbors. These are tough times for our state and for our country, and I know that Lester will take great care to make measured, thoughtful decisions for this’ community.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to read this letter. I hope that you will consider joining me in support of Lester Ordway, a well-rounded individual and a responsible choice for Standish. Lester will put us first in Augusta. If you want to show your support, please visit the town office to vote absentee or get out to the polls on Nov. 8.
Gary E. Plummer
Former state representative and state senator
