During my six-years serving in the Maine Senate, I came to fully understand and appreciate the paramount importance of elected officials who refuse to be a blind rubber stamp for party or special interests. These are the representatives whose priorities reflect the needs of the citizens in their districts. These are the leaders who actually dig into the challenges we face and through action, make a difference in our quality of life. Jessica Fay would be one of those representatives.
Every elected official who has earned our trust and who has gained a seat in the Maine Legislature because of our votes is entrusted to actually become educated on the substance and impact of issues. These representatives are in Augusta to represent the needs of their constituents rather than succumbing to the influence of those who have their own agendas but who might have never even set foot in Casco or Raymond or Poland. Jessica Fay is running for the Maine House to advocate for the citizens in her district, speaking for those who need a voice, and advancing public policy that actually yields meaningful results. As a business woman herself, she understands business and those aspiring to grow new ventures in a challenging economy. On policy issues, she will gather facts and listen thoughtfully to others’ views. This is what we should expect from all of our representatives, but this is not always what we receive. Electing Jessica Fay as your representative would lead to community driven, independent, knowledgeable and balanced representation. I believe electing Jessica Fay to the Maine Legislature is an opportunity that should not be lost.
