WATERBORO — Emma Dutremble scored the go-ahead goal with 11 minutes remaining – the only goal of the second half – and Thornton Academy defeated Massabesic 3-2 on Wednesday night in a Class A South field hockey game.
Emma Desrochers scored twice for the Mustangs (9-2-1), each time pulling Massabesic even.
Taylor Ouellette opened the scoring for Thornton Academy (9-2-1) at the 7:59 mark on a feed from Isabella Robinson, but Morgan Pike set up Desrochers for her first goal at 10:09.
Catherine Henaire put the Golden Trojans back in front with 4:29 left in the half, but Desrochers again countered, this time with an assist from Josie Ring, 1:56 before the intermission.
Isabella Capozzi turned back 13 shots for Thornton, while Madyson Pomerleau stopped six shots for Massabesic.
WESTBROOK 1, MARSHWOOD 0: Alexis Witham scored three minutes into the second half off a penalty corner and the Blue Blazes (9-2-1) edged the Hawks (10-2) at South Berwick.
Avery Tucker and Maddison LeBeau provided the assists on Witham’s goal.
Kimmy Goddard stopped six shots for the Blue Blazes. Shannon Giblin made four saves for Marshwood.
GORHAM 3, WINDHAM 2: Grace McGouldrick scored the winner from Erin Esty off a penalty corner in overtime, and the Rams (9-2-2) outlasted the Eagles (5-6-1) at Gorham.
Karen Stremm scored an unassisted goal with 12:25 left in the first half and set up Jamie Juskiewicz 4:43 later as Gorham took a 2-0 halftime lead.
Paige Laferriere and Emily Skvorak scored for Windham in the second half.
CHEVERUS 2, BONNY EAGLE 0: Sophia Pompeo scored out of a scramble in front of the cage about five minutes into the first half to stake the Stags (8-4) to a 1-0 lead, and Cheverus held on to defeat the Scots (2-10) at Portland.
Carrie Hight added an unassisted goal in the second half for Cheverus.
Chloe Owen turned aside 15 shots for Bonny Eagle, while Kat Kane needed only one save for the Stags.
SOUTH PORTLAND 4, NOBLE 1: Amelia Papi had two goals and an assist, and the Red Riots (5-7) used two second-half goals to pull away from the Knights (1-11) at North Berwick.
Sophia Cummings opened the scoring on a feed from Papi. Papi followed with an unassisted goal to give South Portland a 2-0 halftime lead.
Kassidy Lessard scored early in the second half for Noble, but Papi answered for the Red Riots and Lydia Henderson added an insurance goal late.
Maddie Drolet had eight saves for South Portland. Mia Colantuoni stopped 14 shots for the Knights.
SCARBOROUGH 9, PORTLAND 0: Lucy Malia, Hannah Dobecki and Lauren Topchik each scored twice to lead the Red Storm (10-2) over the Bulldogs (2-10) at Portland.
Kristen Levesque, Ashley Levesque and Liz Callahan each added a goal.
BIDDEFORD 2, SANFORD 1: Sarrah Marcotte and Megan Mourmouras scored first-half goals, and the Tigers (5-7) held off the Spartans (2-10) at Sanford.
Marcotte opened the scoring 8:49 into the game, and Mourmouras extended the lead 11 minutes later.
Jess Bucklin scored for Sanford with an assist from Kyleigh Cote 6:36 into the second half.

BOOTHBAY REGION 6, HALL-DALE 0: Sydney Meader had three goals and two assists to lead the Seahawks (6-5-1) over the Bulldogs (1-11) at Boothbay Harbor.
Erica Eames and Emily Amaral combined for three saves in the shutout.
Bulldogs goalie Kaylee Magee made six saves.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
GORHAM 1, CHEVERUS 0: Meghan Perrin scored on a penalty kick with six minutes left in the first half, and the Rams (9-0-1) beat the Stags (6-3-1) at Gorham.
Emma Gallant of Cheverus missed on a penalty kick in the second half that would have tied the match.
Emma Smith stopped eight shots to record the shutout. Cheverus goalie Katie Boynton made 12 saves.
WINDHAM 10, BIDDEFORD 0: Jordan Lloyd scored three goals as the Eagles (7-0-3) cruised past the Tigers (0-10) at Biddeford.
Meghan Hoffses and Maggie Lloyd each added two goals. Emily Kent, Maggie Symonds and Alanna Joyce also scored.
Kaitlyn Roberts stopped two shots for Windham. Jillian Lewis and Jillian Greenleaf combined to record 25 saves for Biddeford.
MARSHWOOD 6, DEERING 0: Reagan Nichols had a goal and an assist and the Hawks (8-1-1) received goals from five other players as they downed Rams (4-6) at South Berwick.
Natalie Herbold, Casey Perry, Angelina Bisson, Marin Smith and Elora Montgomery each scored.
Nathalie Clavette and Olivia Melton split time in goal for the Hawks, combining for six saves.
THORNTON ACADEMY 2, SOUTH PORTLAND 1: Mia Taranko scored with 55 seconds left in overtime, and the Golden Trojans (5-5) rallied past the Red Riots (3-6-1) at South Portland.
Liz Bell assisted on the winner.
Juliana Selser put the Red Riots ahead 1-0 with 15:39 remaining in the second half.
Thornton tied it on a goal by Alyanna Beaudoin with 1:55 left, assisted by Hannah Niles.
Abbi Cook stopped seven shots for the Trojans. South Portland goalies Zoe Brown and Maria Buck combined for nine saves.
SCARBOROUGH 7, WESTBROOK 0: Gaby Panagakos scored a goal in the first half and two in the second as the Red Storm (7-1-2) rolled past the Blue Blazes (0-9-1) in Westbrook.
Natalie Taylor and Leah Dickman added first-half goals for Scarborough, while Ellie Patten and Lauren O’Reilly rounded the scoring.
Erin Ryan made a pair of saves for the Red Storm.
