Why are you running for office?

I want to help in any way I can to make Maine prosper. To provide the living wages that Maine citizens deserve.

• Income Tax: Gov. LePage would like to lower Maine’s income tax rate and eventually eliminate it, by increasing the state’s sales tax and expanding it across a broader range of goods and services. Do you support this proposal?

    The Maine legislature and the governor’s office put together a state budget that provides the services that Maine taxpayers can afford. We should all learn to live within the confines of the state budget.

• Background Checks: Do you support background checks for privately sold firearms in Maine?

    Maine’s firearm laws in conjunction with the federal firearm laws are adequate for Maine citizens.

• Minimum Wage: In light of the ballot question facing voters this fall, do you support raising the state’s minimum wage from $7.50 to $12 an hour by 2020?

• Marijuana: Do you support legalization of marijuana for recreational use?

    Marijuana is nothing more than a threshold drug to hardcore drugs such as heroin / opiates.

• Addiction/Overdoses: Do you believe the state is doing enough in response to the rise in heroin/opiate addiction and overdoses? If not, what else should be done?
  • Maine is not doing enough to help the addicts that live among us here in Maine. They are desperately seeking help for recovery. Most addicts want the help to turn their lives around and become productive members of our society again.
