WELLS — The Wells football team would beat visiting Yarmouth 54-7 Friday night.
After losing to the Clippers in the 2015 Class C South Semifinal, the Warriors got some revenge in Friday’s win.
Wells would take an early 14-0 lead in the first, with Deandre Woods hauling in a touchdown pass from Owen Berry.
Riley Dempsey would then score Wells’ third touchdown, followed by another touchdown on a fumble return by Evan Whitten, extending the lead to 27-0.
Dempsey would score another rushing touchdown in the final minutes of the half, as the Warriors took a 34-7 lead into the break.
Whitten, Chad Fitzpatrick and Tyler Bridge would all add rushing touchdowns in the second half to close out the win and secure the shutout.
Wells keeps its winning streak alive, starting the season with a 5-0 record.
Thornton Academy 34, Scar borough 19
After a tight first half, the Trojans would cruise past Scarborough in the second to pick up the win.
The Trojans would jump out early when Mike Laverriere connected with Anthony Bracamonte for a score, giving TA the 7-0 lead.
The Red Storm would answer, returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to bring the lead to just 7-6 due to a missed PAT. Laverriere would later rush for a 15-yard touchdown to bring the score to 14-6 TA in the second quarter.
After another Scarborough score, Laverriere would add another rushing touchdown to maintain the lead. Bracamonte would later return the second half kickoff, bringing the score to 27-12.
The Red Storm would score once more, however Laverriere would score a 6-yard touchdown to secure the win.
Old Or char d Beach 28, Medomak Valley 0
The Seagulls cruised to a big 28-0 shutout Friday.
Thomas Fregeau, Cody Blanchette and Brian Davis would score in the first half to give OOB the 21-0 lead.
Dylan Boudreau would cap the night off with another touchdown in the second half to close out the shutout.
Field Hockey
Old Or char d Beach 2, Waynflete 1
The Seagulls would grind out a win at home on Friday.
OOB would get on the board early thanks to a goal from Mikayla Grier. Waynflete was able to tie the score prior to the half, however Grier would score her second goal in the opening minutes of the second half, giving OOB the lead that would be sustained.
West brook 1, Sanford 0
Westbrook’s Avery Tucker would score the game-winner with just 12:50 remaining in the game, securing the tough win over Sanford.
Girl’s Soccer
Gorham 3, Thornton Academy 0
Hallie Shiers, Emma Forgues and Michelle Rowe would tally goals for Gorham, while TA’s Abbi Cook recorded 10 saves in net.
